The morning sun (rough demo)

by Dylan Mars Greenberg

/

about

For Kaylee. This song is partially inspired by the art in the Crown Heights Utica Avenue subway station by her house that I see every morning when i accompany her on the train as she heads to work. I say "partially" because the main inspiration for the song is her.

lyrics

C F
The morning sun warms everyone
C
Takes those skies from grey
F
When days are new what can I do
C
Except let in the rays
Am,
It brings flowers, which showers
F C
Grow in the throws of spring
F
Besides the light, I love the night
C
More than anything
F
The evening moon fills up the room
C
Guides the way for ships
F
And when it's dark, it pierces through
C
Resting on your lips
Am
When they open, they often
F C
Have friendly things to say
F
And so it's true, when I'm with you
C
There aint' a gloomy day
Am C E7
I could take a motorbike and you'd sit on the side
Am C E7
Only I don't know the first thing a-bout how to ride
Am C
E7
I could fly an airplane, perhaps you could take the bus
C F
C
Or a balloon, to see the moon, kiss the sun like us
C F
The noontime clouds will proudly shroud
C
The light from coming in
F
But we don't mind, cause soon we'll find
C
The stars all twinklin
Am
A collective, reflective
F C
On mirrors in the sea
F
The moon and sun, like everyone,
C
Are loved like you and me
F C
Are loved like you and me
F (C,G,C)
Are loved like you and me
